TJ Connelly is the man behind the sound of Fenway Park. All the music you hear during Red Sox games — when players walk up to the plate, when someone hits a home run, between innings — that’s all him:

Probably my sense of responsibility about the music at the ballpark is overdeveloped more than it needs to be, but I definitely have a sense of the importance of what we’re doing.

Check out TJ at work during a Sox batting practice before the World Series.

Still a Yanks fan, but this is a great story. I appreciate anyone who makes a baseball game more old school.

One of the most moving documents to emerge from the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination is a radio broadcast. It’s WGBH’s audio of what was supposed to be just another Friday afternoon concert given by the Boston Symphony Orchestra — which turned into an eloquent elegy for JFK.

I heard a clip from this during 89.7 reporter Phillip Martin’s story with someone who was at the BSO that day, and hearing the audience reaction brought tears to my eyes.

Carol Burnett: The Fresh Air Interview
The TV legend reflects on her childhood, her favorite moments of The Carol Burnett Show, and doing the comic side of glamor.

I love it that this woman helped raise me….via television, of course, but definitely a strong influence.

I met Steve, aka Captain Fingers (pink hat/far right), today in my office building. This is a picture of his band from the 80s. You just never know who’s carrying around some funky music in their soul. Listen to the Jonzun Crew’s hits with this playlist: http://www.youtube.com/artist/The_Jonzun_Crew.

if my man sang like this, I’d definitely change my plans in a minute. Well, I would anyway, but… wow. RT  beingblog:

Corrie showed up at the original meeting on the Commons to plan Occupy Boston. She held a sign that read “I am a nurse without healthcare. I am the 99 percent.”

My write up of a first visit to occupy boston.
